Samsung To Market 64 GB SSD 1.8-inch

samsung_ssd_001.jpg

Samsung is targeting expanding market of Solid State Disk (SSD) by announcing its mass production of 1.8-inch SSD with 64GB (gigabytes) memory capacity. Samsung’s mass production of 64 GB SSD boost its position to become the largest producer of SSD in the world.

At the moment, the 1.8-inch 64 GB SSD is targeted for ultra-light, small size and high performance notebook PC. According to Samsung, their SSD performance exceeds ordinary Hard Drives at the same size by 150 %. Its new architecture makes SSD able to reduce seek time, spin up and rotational latency down to zero. It also cut the boot-up time in half. The most important feature to improve notebook performance is its ability to read data at 57 MB/s and to write data at 32 MB/s.

The SSD is built for extreme environment. It has greater resistance to shock and vibration and it’s able to work in temperature between -20 to 80 °C. The Disk it self virtually emits no heat and uses very low power, about 0.5 W in working mode and 0.01 W in stand by mode. Apparently this feature can increase notebook’s battery life up to 20 %.

Samsung expects that sales of SSD units will increase at a rapid 270 percent pace industry-wide between now and 2010 to become the largest growth segment in the NAND flash industry.

Want to start your private office arms race right now?

I just got my own USB rocket launcher :-) Awsome thing.

Plug into your computer and you got a remote controlled office missile launcher with 360 degrees horizontal and 45 degree vertival rotation with a range of more than 6 meters - which gives you a coverage of 113 square meters round your workplace.
You can get the gadget here: http://tinyurl.com/2qul3c

Check out the video they have on the page.

    Cheers

I’ve got an Amazon gift certificate burning holes in my pocket,
and I want to get the most bang for my buck.

Enter the Secret Amazon Web Pages:

    http://tinyurl.com/38sojf

This is where you’re going to find the “latest sales, rebates, and limited-time offers” from
Amazon, and you can score some pretty deep discounts if you’re a savvy shopper.

Next, there’s the special Sale link. This is open every Friday, and ONLY on Fridays.

You can find the same good discounts here as you would in hidden Deals, although some
Fridays you can really get lucky and make off like an Amazon bandit - I’ve seen discounts
there as low as 75% off sticker price.

I was wondering what some of the more mature members here do about dating. It seems much harder for older singles to find a mate, so I might be turning to online dating for older singles.
    any suggestions? thanks.
