Canon is continuously developing their IS USM lenses series. The term USM is abbreviation of Ultrasonic motors which allows the lenses operates using the principle of motion induced by very high-frequency vibration. By adopting the USM technology, the Canon lenses from the series are offering very fast-focusing process and nearly silent in operation.
