Elpida Memory, Inc. today announced that the DDR3 SO-DIMM has received Intel’s validation to support the upcoming Intel® Centrino® 2 processor technology mobile platform. DDR3 SO-DIMM is the newest advanced memory product for notebooks PCs and is able to achieve low-power consumption using low voltage of 1.5V.
According to the Intel “DDR3 memory technology is especially beneficial in mobile systems as it provides better performance while reducing power.”
Elpida’s plans to introduce improved high-speed, low-cost next-generation products in summer 2008 and 50nm process products in 2009
