Creating a backup for driver files on windows operating system is not an easy task, because sometimes the driver files doesn’t show the real hardware it’s attached. The problem is made worse if you need to re-install your operating system. You may have components in your computer which isn’t always compatible with the operating system being re-installed.

The simplest solution is creating a driver backup using DriverBackup 2.0. This utility is a simple tool that will examine your PC for your installed drivers, enable you to select the drivers you want to backup, save them all to a disc, removable drive or other device. You can then restore if you have system issues in the future.

DriverBackup 2.0 works on Windows XP and Vista. For running on windows XP this utility requires .NET framework 2.0 installed, but on Windows Vista it works straight out of box.
