The Seagate’s new hybrid laptop has come with the improved hard drives with the amazing performance and stability. In the other side, it has been a little pricier for the cost per gigabyte. This new class HD is a combination of a 4GB Nand flash chip, 32MB’s of cache and a 250, 320, or 500GB 7,200 RPM 2.5-inch SATA drive.

The result is the better performance that 20% faster than a standard 10,000 RPM disk and also 80% faster than a standard 7,200 RPM disk. yes the full SSD hard disks will be faster (hybrids are 6 seconds slower), but the cost is better.

You can pre order a 500 GB hybrid drive via PROVANTAGE with the price tag of $133. This is cool…

The hybrid hard drive is made by putting a flash memory chip to the conventional hard drive. A few years ago Seagate had released this kind of hard drive but they want to make a second try now. Our source says that this new hybrid hard drive will be unveiled in May 26th that is used in Asus’ ROG G73Jh gaming laptop.
