January 25th, 2010 · No Comments

There are rumors saying that Apple tablet will venture e-book reader market. As reaction, Amazon finally introduces Kindle Development Kit (KDK) so the developer can make apps for Kindle.

If you want to know what type of app will be on Amazon Kindle so it could be like educational apps like travel guide, Interactive book, RSS Readers or magazine or newspaper subscription. They arent like Apple apps store with its extensive catalogue.

In this step, Amazon may plan for a 70:30 split between them and developer. Previously Amazon has kept a large part of the selling ebook of Kindle.

We dont know whether this Amazon step is a reaction for their rival or just a further progress of them. But actually they have their own market. Apple Tablet will appeal the younger segments with its round device that can do everything. Amazon Kindle will get the older segment with its lower price. Amazon Kindle will be choice for book buying segment that like simplicity and all in one functionality.
