LCD Screen with Privacy Protection

October 18th, 2008 · No Comments

If you really concern about privacy when working on your laptop in public area, then the LCD screen prototype with privacy protection from LG could be the solution. This LCD panel features a new technology to adjust the viewing angle using Viewing-angle Image Control Display (VIC) technology. The user could adjust the panel’s viewing angle from a normal 175-degree to 60-degrees which preventing people sitting next to the user from seeing information on the screen.

According to In-Jae Chung, LG Display’s chief technology officer and executive vice president, this notebook PC LCD panel is significant milestone toward commercialization of notebook PCs that block side viewing without any significant change in screen brightness. Mass production of the panel began this month.
