Mac Pro Gets 3.33GHz Xeon and 2TB Hard Drive

December 5th, 2009 · 1 Comment

There are many users that may feel unsatisfied with the previous Mac Pro with its 1TB hard disk and 2.93GHz Xeon processor. But now they do not have to feel disappointed anymore as Apple has decided to upgrade the Mac Pro. The added powers to this humble boy are 2TB Hard Drives and 3.33GHz Xeon processor.

The added price is $1,200 over the base price and you will get the 3.33GHz Xeon processor. The second addition is 2TB SATA 3Gb/s 7,200rpm hard drive with the price tag of $350. At this time, the mentioned hard drive is available on Appleā€™s Xserve server.

If you are interested in picking up this hard drive you can take up to 4 of it. But the processor can not be doubled because the 8-core rigs top out at 2.93Ghz.

Besides the company, Apple will release the other product in the early of 2010 namely a 6-core, 12-thread Xeon (Gulftown) processor (that built on 32nm processes plus 12MB of shared cache).
