These do it yourself data recovery methods do not always seem appealing to the non computer savvy, like me. I went with, a professional data recovery service. It was affordable and hassle free! I highly recommend them.

Great ad from ‘Jerry’ up there- but I tried Gillware and no recovery plus poor customer service- difficult to talk to anyone on the phone for me. Sent the same drive to Drive Savers and got a full recovery. As I understand it- Drive Savers is the end of the line- more expensive but the best for recovery. If your data is really worth recovering why risk your last resort? I’m sure some people do fine with Gillware but its not worth the risk.
