You can remove unwanted ads from your Yahoo Messenger easily. Removing ads from yahoo messenger could means a lot for improving your connection i.e. a faster chat response, less lag when using voice / telephone feature, less bandwidth used. There is a software that will patch Yahoo Messenger registry to remove those ads. The name of The Patch is Ad Destroy 3.7 made by Dermot.
This yahoo messenger patch is fully compatible with YM 9.0 beta 9.0.0.797 and 9.0.0.907 and 9.0.0.922. It will auto pick it for selection whether supported or not until patch. You can now Backup the Yahoo Messenger executable
This patch works for all of recent version of Yahoo Messenger, but you have to be sure which version of yahoo messenger running on your computer before applying this patch.
Thats it, now you have removed those annoying ads in Yahoo! Messenger. Other ways to avoid those ads is to use a different IM client like Gaim or YahElite.

Does not work with yahoo messenger 9.0.0.1389 I would really like to get rid of the ads on the bottom of my contact list as well as any ads that pop up from yahoo messenger. Thank you

Monnie, you need to get Ad Destroy 4.0
Fully vista compliant with UAC support
And will detect build and remove ads on all builds but only supports 8.1.0.421 to 9.0.0.1389 for buddylist ad.
Ad Destroy 4.0 is available on my site to download to remove the ads in Yahoo! Messenger 9.0.0.1389 now
