Korean companies have attended an exhibition in Japan including Samsung and LG. Both the companies show their latest achievements, a transparent display quite similar with that of AMOLED display. The difference is this transparent display is clear or transparent (like the name suggests) and the AMOLED is black background.
The transparent display using EL material in its making. The OLED using opaque as cathode to make visible the material spectrums while the transparent display using transparent materials as anode and cathode.
The Samsung transparent display measures 2 inches of diagonal and 176 x 220 pxs of resolution. It has permeability of 30%. The LG transparent display has same permeability and it is 15-inch in size. Sony Ericsson Xperia Pureness is an example of mobile device has adapted this transparent display.
