Good news for you. If you have a Nintendo DS lite and hate to do the routine of chargeing it, than you probably would’ve love this mod. We’re going to change this electricity dependent gadget into a solar-powered device. Originally posted by “dark sponge” over at Instructables, the mod is quite easy and cheap to do. These are the things that you need for the hack. First, prepare a 60 x 60 solar panels, a few diodes, some scotch tapes and the sun ray.
Now the next step is, just strap those 60 x 60 solar panels on to both side of the DS, the top and bottom and wired them in parallel. That would create a 3 volts at 40 ma power output, no need for the PSU anymore.
The only downside of this mod is that you have to face it down for a while and leave it under the sun. But, looking at its simplicity and easiness, the mod is worth the time and the money. Just to tell you that the solar panel itself only cost you $3.75 each. Now that will make you, and your green leaning friends, happy, won’t it?
